About the Role
As a Strategic Procurement Lead, you’ll play a key role in shaping and executing category strategies that align with the company’s broader goals of sustainable growth, operational excellence, and innovation. You’ll be part of a global team driving procurement modernisation, value creation, and strategic supplier partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Category Strategy Development: Lead the creation and execution of category strategies using data insights, market trends, and stakeholder collaboration.
- Financial Oversight & Compliance: Manage budgeting processes, cost analysis, and ensure adherence to compliance and risk protocols.
- Project Leadership: Oversee procurement-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and resource optimisation.
- Demand Management: Work closely with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business needs and identify cost-effective solutions.
- Supplier Engagement: Manage end-to-end sourcing processes, negotiate contracts, and build strong supplier relationships.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure strategic alignment and influence key decisions.
- Change Enablement: Drive adoption of new tools, processes, and methodologies across the organisation.
- Performance Optimisation: Deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, cost savings, and team development.
What We’re Looking For
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- 10+ years of experience in procurement or related roles within pharmaceuticals, generics, FMCG, or other cost-sensitive industries.
- Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier relationship management—especially in indirect spend areas such as R&D, employee services, finance, tax, and consulting.
- Strong leadership capabilities, including experience managing international teams.
- Demonstrated success in leading procurement transformation initiatives and cost optimisation programs (e.g., ZBB, strategic supplier partnerships).
- Experience negotiating complex, multi-year outsourcing agreements.
- Skilled in managing senior stakeholders and navigating matrixed environments.
